Share a newer (built 2018) fully furnished 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhome at the newly constructed, beautiful, centrally located, and vibrant community of The Village at Los Carneros in Goleta.
Looking for a quiet, respectful, clean (i.e., should always clean up after themselves, not leave dishes unattended, pitch in to keep the home clean) and friendly housemate to share this beautiful and fully equipped place with. The bedroom is for single occupancy, not for couples.
No preference for male or female, just be *very clean*, respectful, and considerate (this household is obsessive about cleanliness as well as calmer/quieter and respectful living, so these values must align as it won't work out otherwise). No drama / no pets / no smoking / no partying / no drugs / no guests or random people at home.
Really nice, well-appointed (all amenities, high-end appliances), and a safe place to live. GREAT for professionals / postdocs / professors / grad students!
Close to everything:
UCSB - 10 mins by bike
Camino Real Marketplace / restaurants / shops - 5 minutes by bike
SB airport - 10 mins
Goleta tech offices - walkable or short bike ride
Santa Barbara downtown - 15 mins by car
The bedroom has a spacious walk-in closet with ample storage space and mirrored door, and a shared bathroom (shared only with the person in the 3rd bedroom).
The room is fully furnished with nice, newer furniture.
Fully equipped kitchen with new high-end stainless steel appliances, and washer-dryer in the home. Equipped with a water softener and RO water filter.
Attached 2-car garage, dedicated off-street parking, and plenty of uncovered street parking around the home. Parking in the garage will be $100 extra.
Great community amenities: a swimming pool, jacuzzi, community center, a nice park, multiple benches and picnic areas, a walking trail, a bike trail, separate green space, etc.
The monthly rent: $1500 + share of utilities and cleaning fee (around $130-$160/month), along with a month's rent security deposit. The owner pays the housing association fees.
Lease options: Starting month-to-month with a 30-day move-out notice. The lease could be changed to a longer duration after 3 months depending on how it turns out. Even with the flexible lease, preference for folks who intend to live longer-term (e.g., around a year or more) by default if everything works out.
About me: I am a tech professional (M, late 30s, UCSB Ph.D./Postdoc) -- I work as a Product Manager at a tech company. I have been a long-time SB resident and love the area. I tend to live a quiet, laid-back, active (I love running/hiking/working out) and healthy life, respect others' privacy/space, and expect the same from my housemates. I am extremely particular about cleanliness and generally calmer and respectful living and want housemates who share this value. I should note that due to my work, I split my time between Santa Barbara and the Bay Area, so I am not home often. In that sense, you'll mostly be sharing this large and beautiful home with another quiet, respectful, friendly, and mellow housemate (UCSB student).
If interested, please send me an email with some information about yourself -- please include all of the following for me to be able to assess the fit and respond:
Your full name
When you would be looking to move in
Phone #
Social media (LinkedIn / Facebook / Instagram)
A little bit about yourself (age, school, work, school or work hours, hobbies)
What is your typical schedule/routine?
Pet peeves?
Are you in a relationship? If so, do you expect your significant other to visit (please note that the room is for single occupancy only)?
Why would you make a great housemate?
Why are you looking for a new place to live?
How long do you intend to stay if everything works out at both ends? (preference for folks who plan to live long-term by default))
What would your past housemates or landlords say about you as a roommate/tenant?
Any other specific information that you'd like to mention?
Those who strongly resonate with the values that I've mentioned above should likely really appreciate living at this place (past housemates have shared this sentiment). For others, it might not work out.
Thanks for taking the time to read the post. If you are interested, please include the requested information for me to be able to assess the fit (it also helps as an indication that your outreach is serious and intentional). This is a prerequisite for a response.
