These microphones are amazing, and sadly I just have not used them for a few years. If you're not already familiar, these are not only excellent microphones on their own, but they were designed to be used in conjunction with modeling software from Slate Digital. With that, you can model a whole bunch of legendary microphones. I also have the software license, and would transfer that to you if you buy these.
The two ML-1 mics have a special origin, and that is that they were used by the guitar tech for Alexi Laiho (of Children of Bodom fame). I purchased them from him on Reverb maybe five years ago, and sadly only used them a handful of time. If you have any interest in other Bodom related gear, I'll put an ad up soon for a Marshall JVM410H that Alexi used touring. Please note that one of the microphones is missing a little sort of cap at the bottom where the cable plugs in. The one practical issue that introduces is that when you screw it into the shock mount, it's not quite as firmly held in place. It won't fall or anything, but it twists more than normal. I think that would only be an issue if you were to mount it in a unique or sideways position.
The VRS8 in an excellent 8-mic preamp, and was intended specifically to be paired with the Slate microphones (simply because it has a known and well-measured response, so it might work more predictably with the modeling software). The big downside is that Slate stopped supporting the VRS8, so it doesn't work with Macs that are on the newer Apple silicon, only with ones from the Intel Era. There could be some third party software that remedies this, I don't actually know. I bought a 2019 Macbook Pro specifically for use with this, which I'll also put up for sale in another ad.
New, the ML-1 mics were $800 each, although sometimes they would go on sale. I purchased them from Alexi's guitar tech for a bit over $900 for the pair.
New, the ML-2 mics were $150 new, I believe.
New, the VRS8 was something like $1500 or so. Because of the VRS8's limited compatibility though, I'm considering it not worth nearly so much.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I'd prefer to sell it all as a bundle, but am open to parting it out if necessary. I'll put other ads up for things, including preamps and other microphones.
