This cello has just been appraised by luthier, Linda West Cellos, in Santa Barbara. You can verify this if you wish. They stated that with about $1K towards a new high quality setup/strings - this cello would sound very nice and be worth around $6K. So, I am listing this about $1000 to $1500 below its' value ($4k to $4.5K)
It is solid, carved (not laminate), no seam cracks. minor repairs around the body that have been done well. The sound post is a good quality but should be re sized and moved left a little. She told me to mention that there has been a sound post patch repair which was done well.
