IntriPlex Technologies, Inc. is a metal stamping manufacturing facility, and a leading supplier of precision engineered mechanical/electromechanical components and automation services for data storage and electric battery parts. Our manufacturing team at our facility in Goleta, CA is looking for a CNC & EDM Programmer/Operator.
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a responsible CNC & EDM Programmer/Operator to support the Toolroom by fabricating precision components that meet specifications for stamping dies and fixtures using conventional and CNC machining, wire and sinker EDM, grinding and polishing. This individual will have the opportunity to train and grow into a Toolmaker role by working closely with and learning from Toolmakers and Tool Designers.
REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requires knowledge of and experience running wire EDM machines; experience with conventions/sinker EDM also preferred.
Requires general knowledge of vertical machining centers.
Requires CNC program software experience.
Sets up and operates all basic machine tools, mills, lathes, grinders, and machinist hand tools.
Capability to grind die components to +/-.0001” tolerance on tool steel and carbide strongly preferred.
Knowledge of shop inspection procedures, mechanical, optical and computer assisted measuring equiment.
Understanding of SPC manufacturing environment.
Requires general knowledge of various tool steels and their application.
General Knowledge of jigs and fixtures, automated machinery and basic shop machine maintenance.
Analyzes and interprets specifications, including blue prints, engineering sketches and verbal information.
Fabricates and optimizes tooling components and parts in dynamic development environment through manual and CNC machining, conventional EDM and grinding while interfacing with toolmakers, pressroom and quality.

Physical Demands: Proper lifting techniques required. Extended periods of standing may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Work Environment: May require occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection.
For the most part room temperatures are ambient, lighting and traditional office equipment to be found.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Two years’ technical school, one to five years’ experience working on machine tools.
Previous involvement with new product development activities including tooling and process advancement working closely with tool designers preferred.
Managerial experience considered a plus.
