Position Summary
We’re hiring an experienced Gate Technician Foreman to lead and manage a field crew. You’ll run day-to-day operations on service and installation jobs, mentor technicians, maintain quality and safety standards, and be a key contributor to business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role with technical work, customer interaction, and scheduling/administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, and supervise a crew of gate technicians on installation, repair, and preventative maintenance jobs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues; perform troubleshooting and repairs.
- Oversee quality control, code compliance, and job documentation.
- Train and mentor technicians on best practices, safety, and customer service.
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, and customers to ensure timely completion.
- Manage parts inventory, job cost tracking, and field reporting.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed (rotational/on-call schedule).
- Identify opportunities to grow service contracts and upsell value-added solutions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of gate, access-control, or related mechanical/electrical field experience; prior foreman or lead experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with motors, operators, sensors, controls, and access systems.
- Comfortable with basic electrical wiring, conduit, and low-voltage controls.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to lift equipment, work outdoors, and climb ladders/gates as needed.
- Organized, safety-minded, and capable of supervising a crew and field operations.
