Coorsite porcelain ceramic "Ade-O-Matic" juicer from the 1930s.
A highly desirable piece; particularly difficult to find in this color and in such fine condition.
A lovely example of Art Deco style. Wonderfully pleasing to the eye, with its stunning cobalt blue glaze.
This splendid vintage pitcher/juicer is in magnificent condition, having sustained only two *extremely tiny* little flakes off the blue glaze on its reamer. (Please refer to all photos.)
I estimate that each of the two "fleabite" flakes is only about 1/32 of an inch. They are so tiny, I nearly didn't see them at all.
Other than those minor blemishes, the pitcher has no cracks/no scratches. At the very bottom, inside, there is some evidence of use. Nothing in the least bit glaring. I have shown in one macro closeup that there is also minor crazing there, not even breaking the glaze.
There is a sort of "mysterious" line of glaze (approx 2" in length) that is atop the inside of the spout. It is not any type of repair, but is a long "drip" of extra glaze. (Again: please refer to all photos.)
The mechanism works well. The reamer is attached to a metal rod and, when depressed, the reamer spins ---- thus enabling the juicing of citrus fruits. The reamer is solidly attached and does not separate from the rod.
Coorsite is a type of industrial porcelain and was originally made by the HF Coors Pottery Company.
Dimensions:
Height = 8" (from base of juicer to reamer top)
Width = 6"
Depth = 9-5/8" (from spout tip to back edge of handle)
I believe the capacity is equal to 6 cups or a bit more.
Location is very near to downtown Santa Barbara.
