Lead Housekeeper – Boutique Inns (Santa Barbara/Montecito)
We are a small, boutique hospitality group looking for a reliable, hands-on Lead Housekeeper to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations across our inns in the Santa Barbara/Montecito area.
This person will be the backbone of our cleanliness and presentation standards, and will run our central laundry operation to make sure every property has the linens it needs, on time.
Position: Lead Housekeeper 
Department: Housekeeping / Operations
Reports To: Innkeeper / General Manager
Schedule: Full-time, must be available weekends and holidays
Compensation: Hourly (rate DOE)
What You’ll Do 
Housekeeping & Quality Control
- Oversee daily housekeeping across multiple properties
- Assign cleaning boards and prioritize rooms based on check-ins
- Inspect rooms after cleaning to ensure they are guest-ready
- Train housekeepers on cleaning standards, safety, and presentation
- Monitor cleaning supplies and amenities and alert management when low
Laundry Operations (Central Laundry Hub)
- Run and oversee daily laundry for all properties
- Keep a steady laundry flow to avoid bottlenecks on busy days
- Check linen quality, treat stains, and pull worn-out items
- Coordinate linen deliveries with our houseman so no property is short
- Track linen levels (par levels) for each house and the central hub
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE (SDS compliance)
- Maintain consistent room setups and presentation across all inns
What Success Looks Like 
- Rooms are consistently clean, stocked, and guest-ready on time
- No linen shortages due to organized laundry and planning
- Laundry runs smoothly and predictably, even on busy turnover days
- Housekeeping staff feel supported and clear on expectations
Qualifications 
- Previous housekeeping lead or supervisor experience preferred
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple tasks: room turns, inspections, and laundry
- Calm, clear communicator with staff, front desk, and maintenance
- Comfortable using housekeeping apps/software to update room status
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel between inns)
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Professional appearance and able to follow uniform/grooming standards
Physical Requirements 
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (laundry bags/linen bins)
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warm, noisy laundry environment and around cleaning chemicals
