The Kanoe is the finest (and the only certified organic) baby hammock available. Constructed from the finest quality, certified 100% organic cotton canvas, low-impact, non-toxic dyes, sustainably harvested Wisconson poplar dowels, and custom stainless steel parts, the Kanoe’s gorgeous contemporary design, superior materials, and versatility set it apart.
With the Kanoe, there’s no need for a crib. The Kanoe is a motion sensitive baby hammock that rocks and sways in response to your baby's subtle movements. Babies not only love to be cradled, rocked and bounced— they need cradling and motion for healthy development. The Kanoe provides a safe and comforting place where babies can rest better and sleep more soundly or just enjoy the hammock’s exceptional comfort and calming, gentle range of motion. The soothing bounce of the Kanoe lulls even the fussiest sleepers or abruptly awakened babies to sleep as if gently rocked in your arms. The straps are simple to adjust, and if you have a colicky baby, you can even set the hammock at an incline to give them some relief.
Installation is simple: locate a ceiling stud, screw in the supplied eye lag (you get two of them with your hammock and can buy more so that the hammock can be moved to many locations around the house— even outside!), clip on the hammock, and it’s good to go. We placed eye lags next to our bed, in the nursery, in the living room, and on our front porch so our little one could nap wherever we were. Because of its lightweight portability, we also had lags set up at Grandma’s house, making peaceful sleep a snap during our frequent visits.
The Kanoe’s generous bassinet area is 16 inches wide x 36 inches long and accommodates munchkins weighing up to 50lbs (and more, once the spring is removed) so an older child can use it— an investment that will really grow with your child (toddlers love climbing into their own personal hammocks for nap time!).
