The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) community involvement process allows citizens the opportunity to comment on projects that impact the environment. However many public comment periods receive little if any attention and there is an enormous need for technical commenting. Our goal is to fill that need when we comment on projects involving air pollution, water pollution, hazardous waste disposal, and protection of endangered species (such as the California Tiger Salamander shown above).
Environmental Review, Inc. is organizing an online community of volunteer engineers and scientists to review and comment on documents posted online by governmental agencies for 30-day public comment periods. Our work helps improve project performance for environmental compliance and consistency with regulations. If you know about environmental science and regulations, come help us provide public oversight for environmentally sensitive projects. We comment during the public review stages for industrial permits for air emissions and water discharges, cleanup plans, and development plans with environmental concerns.
All of our work is done online. We have a national directory of comment periods for documents available for public review and examples of our work on our website. Experience as a consultant or regulator is preferred however recent college graduates and students in sciences and engineering may also apply.
We are working to build local capacity for commenting in California. To learn how to join our collaborative team reply to this ad or check out our website at W-W-W dot ENVREVIEW dot ORG (Environmental Review, Inc. a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation)
