New in box. Never opened. Bought 2 of these and only ended up installing 1. We now use a hitch carrier because we are often carrying 4 bikes. The one we did use was perfect for a road bike. Never an issue. Locks to rack. "Claw" then clamps on bike frame and locks as well.
