Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone in the Goleta area looking for Administrative work. This position is Full Time and temporary (lasting until 4/06/2019), with the schedule to be determined upon hire (40 hours/week, 8 hours/day). The pay rate for this position is $21.91/hr. **If chosen for this position, you will be required to get a TB test, 10 panel drug screen, background check, flu shot, and up to date vaccinations**

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maximize cash collections while minimizing uncollectable accounts
• Interface with internal revenue cycle departments and external payer organizations including Health Information Management, Case Management, review organizations, access/registration areas, and clinical departments to achieve clean claim submissions
• Use different company systems in compliance with regulatory bodies, through oral and written communication, in order to perform claims processing and account collections
• Ensure that all accounts are processed in an efficient and expeditious manner, while assuring the integrity of each patient account
• Identify and resolve missing or duplicate charges or incorrect patient statuses
• Identify trends and root causes escalating to management for workflow improvement
• On a daily basis, resolve overlapping claims (including indentifying issues with any of the systems or editing problems)
• Review, analyze, and resolve claim edits
• Review late charge claims in order to resolve them (including adjusting claims, submitting late charge or merging claims)
• Print and mail paper claims that are not eligible for electronic remittance and require an attachment
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or higher (Required)
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• 3+ years of office or patient access experience
• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare environment
• 5+ years of experience working in a hospital environment
• Bilingual - English/Spanish (Required)
• Must have knowledge of billing and registration systems, including: insurance carriers, contracts, and types of medical coverage
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to properly communicate through both oral and written communication
• Strong problem solving skills and decision making abilities
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service skills at all times
• Knowledge of collection procedures
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
