Santa Barbara law firm seeking a legal secretary/receptionist to work directly with the attorney and office staff. This position is full-time (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm)--days and times are nonnegotiable.
A qualified candidate must meet the following requirements:
-Proficient usage of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
-Ability to operate Mac OS computers
-Extremely organized and detail-oriented
-Must be able to work independently and take direction from other employees
-Comfortable working in a fast-paced office
-Must type at least 50 WPM
-Must be able to adhere to law office procedures
-Must have the ability to identify urgent tasks and prioritize time accordingly
-Must be able to multi-task and adapt to the changing situations and priorities
-Must be on-time and otherwise punctual
-At least one-years' experience as a legal secretary, administrative assistant, or receptionist is preferred
The following additional qualifications are preferred but not required in a candidate:
-Bilingual in English and Spanish
-Intent to continue career in the legal field
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Answering and screening office phone calls
-Maintaining and organizing electronic and hard-copy files
-Organizing, scheduling, and maintaining of office calendars
-Copying and scanning of files
-Electronic filing of court documents
-Proactively assisting in upcoming events
-Producing invoices and requesting payment from clients
This position is full-time (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm)--days and times are nonnegotiable.
