This is a very very nice Fender American Vintage II 1961 Reissue Stratocaster in Olympic White Nitrocellulose Finish. It’s in excellent condition with one ding in the finish where a stagehand dropped a microphone on it while mic’ing up my amp.
It’s all that you would expect: Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Also, the vintage specs give it a 7.25” fretboard radius, which I love a lot. I don’t like the modern compound radius and I really hate a 12” radius on a Fender. I wish they sold USA necks in 7.25” radius because I’d have those on my other Strat and my Telecaster too.
Dunlop Strap Locks. Fender Locking vintage style tuners. I have the original tuners as well, but they just live in a box because they’re a total game changer. This guitar’s tuning stability is legendary. I do all of my own guitar work and this one is currently set up for 10-gauge strings and I have the tremolo decked because that’s how I set up my Strats. I can set it up for a different gauge and customize the tremolo for you if you want me to.
The tone on this thing is just crazy, especially the neck pickup. Note that the fretboard dots you see are overlays from Fretlook. This guitar comes with the original vintage clay dot markers, which look beautiful but are essential invisible on a dark stage, especially when blue light shines on them. Fretlook makes high quality transfers that peel off with no residue or damage to the board. You can remove them if you want, though they look great and are visible in the dark, so there is that. If you’re playing this in your living room you maybe can do with the clay dots just fine.
This guitar sells new for $2420 in 2026 price and is still current in Fenders USA lineup. I purchased it new in $2200 in November 2023 from Sweetwater. Customs with Deluxe Vintage Fender case.
Local pickup only. I’m open to reasonable short-term layaway terms. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately and it’s worked out for everybody.
