These devices help phase problem associated with installation of any type of sound equipment: You can test for absolute phase on amplifiers, equalizers, processors, speakers, drives, tweeters, cables or on a complete sound system.The PHI-3G and PHI-3D system consists of a pulse generator unit and a phase detector, both units are necessary to check any sound system.
*The PHI-3G is the pulse generator, it produces a special electrical signal necessary to drive any transducer either directly or through a power amplifier.
*The PHI-3G 's signal covers the complete audio frequency spectrum (20 Hz - 20 kHz). The PHI-3D is the complementary unit, it detects the pulses generated by the PHI-3G.PHI-3D Detector Spec.
• LED Indication: 300 milliseconds duration per pulse. Green indicates positive (out-going) polarity, red indicates negative (in-going) pulse polarity • Polarity: Selectable Positive-going PIN 2 HOT (+2) or PIN 3 HOT (+3) • Required Acoustic Level at Detector: Useful range 75 dBc to greater than 120dBc • Battery Life: 245 hrs. approximately•

Comes in a special wooden storage case and manual, as you can see on picture.NOTE: 8 AA Batteries needed to operate these units are not included. These units were tested and operational prior to this listing.-

NOTE: Battery Installation: Remove 4 Screws, 2 each side, back plate slides off to access battery compartment. Both units require 4 each AA batteries. Battery life 245 hours.
