I design and build tube amplifiers for guitar and HiFi. I have some quirky amps that I built years ago when I was into nostalgia and using cabinets from mid- century or earlier – I didn’t like seeing them go in the trash.
These are fun amps, but it’s not a sustainable business model to build amps like this. Each amplifier has been entirely rebuilt from the chassis up according to my own circuit design, but often based on well known styles like Vox AC series or Fender Tweed or Champ; they are often 100% all new electronic parts, but I kept the transformers whenever I could. There doesn’t seem to be a thriving market that would pay for the time and effort it takes to complete one of these amps (easily 100 hours in some cases), unless it’s a custom order. As a result, I have a handful of these amps sitting in storage, and I’d rather see them go somewhere and be used, so I’m selling them at super low prices.
