Innovative plaintiff-side law firm practicing throughout California seeks an Associate Attorney. The firm is strongly focused on protecting workers' rights related to all labor and employment claims. The firm represents workers whose former employers violated their state or federal rights, including - but not limited to - unpaid wages, wage and hour claims, discrimination, wrongful termination, etc.Experience in employment law is preferred, but not required. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is early in their career or newly licensed and looking to learn a viable practice area that has career longevity. Please apply if you are a qualified member of the California Bar. The firm will train you how to manage and organize a docket, and teach you the substantive area of practice. Candidates for this position must have a great work ethic and have a great attitude. The firm prides itself on obtaining results for its clients and is looking for a like-minded attorney to join them.
If hired, after a period of training, you will be on a team that will perform day-to-day execution of a large docket. The teams focus will be: review of intake files and questionnaires; initial interviews with clients; identification and location of employers; settlement authorization; drafting and following-upon records requests; drafting of demand letters; complaints and additional correspondence; drafting of settlement agreements; settlement execution; and settlement collection. You will also be updating the status of matters in the firm's practice management software. Just like any junior associate in private practice, you will work long hours, including some nights and weekends, to meet your clients' needs. This position requires you to work from a home office as it is fully-remote.
Your compensation will be $4,800.00 per month as a base salary and in accordance with the firm's bonus plan you will receive a guaranteed minimum bonus making your total compensation at least $70,000 within your first year less applicable withholdings and in accordance with the company's payroll procedures.
