Job Summary
The LVN House Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities-Nursing (ICF/DD-N). This role combines licensed vocational nursing duties with house management and staff supervision to ensure residents receive safe, person-centered, and compliant care in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Nursing & Clinical Care
-Provide licensed vocational nursing services to residents with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs
-Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
-Monitor residents' health status and report changes to the RN, physician, or interdisciplinary team
-Maintain accurate medical records, MARs, and treatment documentation
-Ensure infection control, health and safety standards are followed.
House Management
-Oversee daily operations of the facility to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment
-Coordinate resident schedules, medical appointments, and therapies.
-Ensure compliance with ICF/DD-N regulations, policies and procedures
-Prepare for and participate in state and federal surveys, audits, and inspections.
Staff Supervision & Training
-Supervise direct care staff and ensure proper staffing levels
-Train, mentor, and support staff in resident care, documentation, and safety procedures
-Monitor staff performance and provide feedback in collaboration with the administration
-Ensure staff follow care plans, behavioral plans, and nursing protocols
Care Planning & Coordination
-Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings
-Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Porgram Plans (IPPs)
-Communicate effectively with families, guardians, physicians, and service coordinators
-Advocate for resindents' rights, dignity, and quality of life
Administrative Responsibilities
-Maintain facility logs, reports, and required documentation
-Assist with incident reporting and follow-up
-Support compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirments.
Qualifications
Required
-Current and valid LVN license in good standing
-Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-Ability to supervise staff and manage mulitple responsibilities
Preferred
-Previous experience in a supervisory role
-Experience in an ICF/DD, ICF/DD-N, or similar residential healthcare setting
-CPR/First Aid certification
Physical & Work Requirements
-Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed
-Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform nursing duties throughout the shift
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends or on-call as required.
