Mindflower Cafe is an ingredient-driven cafe focused on thoughtful food and precise execution. We cook with premium ingredients, keep our systems tight, and care about how people show up and work together.

We’re looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is service-focused, with prep shifts during the week and the opportunity to take on additional service days as the cafe expands.

The pace can be fast, expectations are clear, and communication matters. We value cooks who work clean, stay organized, and take pride in consistency and execution.

Job Summary

The Line Cook plays an important role in daily kitchen operations, supporting both service and prep as the cafe continues to grow. During service, this role helps execute menu items across stations. During the week, the Line Cook contributes to prep, organization, and the behind-the-scenes work that makes service successful.

Because Mindflower Cafe is still growing, this role offers meaningful opportunities for increased responsibility, skill development, and long-term growth within the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Service:

• Execute menu items with accuracy and consistency

• Support multiple stations as needed, including some garde manger work

• Maintain a clean, organized station and good awareness during service

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with the kitchen team

Prep:

• Complete assigned prep tasks efficiently and to standard

• Follow recipes, prep lists, and production guidelines

• Label, date, and store products properly

• Keep prep areas clean, organized, and functional

General:

• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards

• Safely operate and clean kitchen equipment

• Participate in daily and periodic cleaning routines

• Support the team wherever needed

Requirements

• California Food Handler Card

• Availability for weekend service

• Flexibility to add service shifts as operating days expand

• Availability for prep shifts during the week

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

• Reliable and punctual

Language

Fluency in multiple languages—including English and Spanish—is a plus, but not mandatory.

Compensation Details

Compensation: $18–$24 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
