Art piece for collection or decoration. Unknown origin, we do know it was acquired by a travelling collector family member mid 20th century but appears to be a lot older than that. It looks very similar to some Mossi Plank Masks from Burkina Faso in museums and galleries that I saw online. (If you know where it is from if not from Burkina Faso, kindly let us know, we are curious.) Hand-carved. Striking. Remnants of white and red pigment. Approx. 64" tall. Mask face with horns. Reportedly a totemic animal ancestor tribute item. There is a visible crack mid-height but it appears solid overall. Will consider reasonable offers. Prefer local pickup. As is.
