Our property has a colorful past, and was originally inhabited by the Chumash Indians. A five minute walk down the road leads you to the historic Chumash Painted Cave, the best preserved Chumash paintings known. Homesteaded by Syra & Thomas Lewis in 1897, cabins were built here to house miners who mined limestone for use in concrete. A beautiful lime-kiln is still in existence today. Our cabins are the same buildings that were built over 100 years ago, although they have been upgraded over the years to make them a little more cozy! Our guest cabin will sleep three, (Queen size bed & Futon) has a full kitchen with large refrigerator and four burner stove & oven, micro-wave, toaster, coffee maker, plates, glasses, pots & pans, and silverware. Bathroom has a tile shower. Linens and towels are furnished. Rooms are clean with new furnishings.

2 Bed 1 bath Santa Barbara home with mountain views. This home has been completely remodeled with the past two years and is very tasteful. It has one kin-sized bed in one bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the other bedroom. There is also an 'Aerobed' blow-up mattress to sleep another couple. The house comes fully equipped with a fully-stocked kitchen with tableware for 10 as well as new stainless steel appliances. All linens and towels are included and there is even a laundryroom for your use. The living area has a wood-burning fireplace with a custom-built flagstone hearth. The dining area includes a custom-built dining table for 8, but can be used for 10 if you are cozy with the person next to you. Lots of natural light in a very clean house.

As you move outside the flagstone patio has an outdoor dining table for 6 along with a built-in charcoal barbecue and propane side burner for entertaining outside. The rest of the yard has a lawn for the kids to run around on as well as a firepit and a waterfall and small pond. You can relax in the hammock or swing on the porchswing. All utilities, wireless internet, and cable tv are included as well as a DVD/VHS player.

Close to everything! 4 minute drive to shopping (Macy's, Tiffany's, Potterbarn, etc) as well as dining. Or you can walk the one mile trip to get some lunch and shopping. 8-10 minute drive to downtown or three different beaches.

Hardwood floors in dining area with oak table that will seat 12.

Kitchen with Wolf range, granite counter tops, built-in electric range and 27 cu.ft. refrigerator. Living room is all glass facing the ocean from the top of the Mesa Hill, with comfortable seating areas and a round central fireplace for those cool evenings. Master bedroom (18x25)has a king size bed, wood-burning Franklin stove, and a wall of glass overlooking the sea. Second bedroom (18x20) has a separate entrance and a King bed. Set on one acre of terraced hillside with large deck, hot tub, and many fruit trees and flowers.

This is a hilltop home with two levels. The top level (street level) is the one with the 180 degree view of the ocean, and is where you will be staying. There is a permanent resident who lives in a small unit below the house. He has his own entrance and should not bother you.
