Jet engine exhaust contains carbon dioxide, oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, unburned fuel, soot and metal particles, as well as water vapor. The soot provides condensation sites for the water vapor. Any particles present in the air provide additional sites.

Depending on a plane�s altitude, and the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere, contrails may vary in their thickness, extent and duration. The nature and persistence of jet contrails can be used to predict the weather. A thin, short-lived contrail indicates low-humidity air at high altitude, a sign of fair weather, whereas a thick, long-lasting contrail reflects humid air at high altitudes and can be an early indicator of a storm.

The mixing gases contained in the contrail rotate with respect to the ambient air. These regions of rotating flow are called vortices. (Any sharp surface, such as the tip of a wing, can cause vortical flow in its wake if it is sufficiently large or the flow is sufficiently fast.) On occasion, these trailing vortices may interact with one another.


In one well-known example of this fact, the Crow Instability causes the vortices to develop symmetric sinusoidal oscillations and eventually to merge and form vortex rings behind the jet. This instability can be triggered by turbulence in the surrounding air or by local variation in air temperature or density, which may itself be the result of the stratification of the atmosphere. When the contrails are visible and strong, it is possible to see the white streaks become wavy and then leave rings floating high in the sky, like smoke rings from a giant cigar.

Recent research has suggested that the ice clouds contained in contrails cause greenhouse effects and contribute to global warming as part of the insulating blanket of moisture and gases in the atmosphere. Researchers in this area seized on the opportunity presented on September 11 and 12 over the U.S. The complete cessation of commercial air traffic offered a control sky without contrails for use in quantifying the environmental effects of contrails.

You might remember my concerns from an earlier posting regarding Mr. Thyne who was than running for city council. HE was able to receive a plea deal for his DUI probation violation from the D.A. and Judge Hill who by the way never should have been presiding over the case and sentencing of Mr. Thyne to house arrest. There is only one problem with this. According to Dennis Merenbach in the case he handled rather poorly for me you must apply to the Sheriffs department and qualify for house arrest after sentencing, the Judge or D.A. should not pretend to have the authority to grant such a sweet heart deal.

Lets move on Nnow I have spoken to the Hollywood family and was most impressed by them. With such a complex case and so many issues the Father and Mother made there wishes very clear to me. To simply be able to receive a fair trial and treatment in Santa Barbara Superior Court and from Judge Brian Hill for there son. Not only can I respect that I had the same wishes in my 5 case’s charged with 7 false strike-able offenses and also was before Judge Hill. Just as I had on T.V. I have informed them about the Judicial Council and to have Judge Hill’s actions in there case reviewed. There was some concern over my idea about challenging Judge Hill on his body of work over such cases as Eric Frimpong, R. Juarez and yes there son Jessie’s. I feel that if and when reviewed by the Judicial Council it could help there son receive that fair trial. Well after meeting them this past weekend I was able to go to the Judicial Council web site and in 10 minutes I was able to show them a example of another Judge who was removed from the Courts for his body of work involving illegal actions in 4 separate criminal cases. To the Hollywood family I ask them this question. In those 4 cases were the Judge was removed was there not 8 Attorneys present and if show how did the Judge get away with his crimes? I feel it is because all attorneys including Mr. Blatt fail to leave up to there oath and obligation. If your are not satisfied in court tomorrow ask your Attorney to prepare the complaint directly to Judicial Council. You and I both know the fox is guarding the hen house and no one is willing to be honest here. If jury instructions are contaminated get that question answered to your satisfaction by the Judicial Council. Karen Adkins of the Santa Barbara Public Defenders Office had those very concerns in her defense of young R. Juarez in the A. Linares murder trial. I am preparing my complaint first to the State Bar on Senior Deputy District Attorney Gerald Franklin as we speak. I will also be writing the presiding Judge over several concerns I have in my case alone regarding the actions of court reporter Sharon Reinhold and I under stand you too have several of the same concerns in your sons case as well. Well it’s time to get to work but you can still see me on local T.V. at 12pm on Tuesday channel 17.

I don't think you're ready for a monogamous relationship because you have an over-inflated sense of your own self. You see yourself as attractive and fun and are looking for your "match". Then you lump men into two categories: the "boring and/or selfish and unattractive ones" who will actually have a committed, long-term relationship with you, or the "attractive and/or educated and fun" ones who are actively cheating on their current relationships. It's so black and white with you. Well, I say bullshit. Nothing in life is either black or white.

Number one: If you want to be in a good, monogamous relationship, you have to be a decent person. Decent people do not knowingly cheat on other people's mates. I don't care what your selfish excuses are. Stop being that lousy person, have some self-respect, and don't cheat with cheaters.

From your post, I think you see monogamy as "boring" and cheating as "fun". You repeat the same words over and over. I don't think the guys you're dating are actually boring or fun, but it's just your simplified perception of them. I bet you would think that same cheater who's so exciting would be boring if he was unattached and wanted to settle down with you. Think about it.

You say you're looking for "one same guy who captivates me". Ohhhhh boy. Do you sound like a drama queen or what? You sound like you're expecting the sun, the moon, the stars, the most CAPTIVATING and PASSIONATE relationship EV-AH, just like in the movies, right? Well, I got some bad news for you. Every relationship, even the most GRAND! PASSIONATE! ones, fade as the years go by. They settle into a comfortable amiableness. NOBODY holds onto that excitement of the first flush of romance. Now, some people can't handle that (like drama queens) and they dump their partners the second the romance cools a bit, thinking, "I got the wrong one! I must find my match!" and they constantly search for more, more, more! Those people end up bitter, sad, and alone. Don't be one of those people.

Here's my advice: Find a nice, decent guy. Yes, they are out there in Santa Barbara, contrary to what people say on Craigslist. Here's a clue, though: You're not going to find them in the downtown bars, hitting on college girls, and they're not going to be cheating on their mates. Don't date guys you think are "boring" or "unattractive" just because you want to be in a monogamous relationship, either. If you can't find anyone you think is your "match", maybe you do need to work on yourself a bit. Lose the attitude, become less selfish, do something for others, like volunteer work. Spend some time alone and find out who you are. Then go out there and find that good, decent guy. Get to know him really well. Enjoy your early courtship time, and stick with him when it cools down. Stick with him during the hard times, and stick with him during the good times. Grow old together and accept it, laugh about it, enjoy your imperfections. But stick with him. And don't screw around on him. That's not "exciting", that's just you being selfish. If you can't do that, then don't even bother with monogamy. You'll just screw up some nice guy's life.

Well, that's my free advice on monogamy. Take it for what it's worth. It's hard work but it's worth it, in my opinion. You can do it, too, if you want it.

SIX HOURS LATER I was once again on State Street, and the problem still hadn't been fixed. Understand one thing: the bolt--solidly in place--was (and probably still IS)--sticking up several inches and posed a very real threat not only to tires of passing vehicles, but to pedestrians, who had to walk past it, since it was/is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE 0F A CROSSWALK, where it could easily be tripped over or stepped on.

As they say on the Internet, WTF? Did we not give the brave men and women of the Santa Barbara Police Department a rather nice pay raise recently, at a time when scores of other individuals were losing their jobs due to a declining economy? I guess the SBPD is like the post office--the more money they get, the less they want to work.

There wasn't exactly a lot of crime going on at 7:30 Sunday morning, and the SBPD surely could have done something about this hazard. If someone DID trip on this bolt or sustained a flat tire because of it, I hope to hell they sue the city.

Way ta go, SBPD! While I've never been a "law & order" type, I DID have respect for you. Any cops like to comment on why nothing was/is done about a huge metal bolt sticking several inches from the ground in an area heavily trafficked by cars AND pedestrians?

So does it mean that attractive and/or educated and fun men cheat because they have so many opportunities that they will never end up alone?
I am actually not the unstable and chaos-loving person that people think I am. I want and am ready to be with one same guy who captivates me, for the rest of my life, in a relationship where we both do not take each other for granted (because this seems to be essential for any relationship to have any chance to survive). But....it seems like men who could be my match do not want this.
I read in one of the posts about Thailand that cheating is natural, monogamy is unnatural. If this is true, it really seems like I have a real problem here, since my wish of monogamy is against nature. As for some of the other posts, the guy that claimed under 25 is child molestation is either a troll or a closeted pedophile who can't come to terms with his/her own attractions. While the US has laws to protect children from abuse and corruption, lets be honest, there is no magic age where sexuality becomes natural, the age of 18 is arbitrary and doesn't even apply in many states. Some states have age of consent laws lower than 14 as do some other countries.

My stomach is turned by a plethora of sexual activities but I don't intend to lobby against them. Age of consent is really the only arguable factor, not specific sexual attractions. To those of you that posture as such moral beings, be honest with yourself the next time you see a high school cheerleader high kicking and displaying her tiny panties. You find the need to look away because you aren't comfortable with those feelings welling up deep inside. The need for self control is obvious but don't pretend sixteen can't be appealing, that's why women are always trying to look younger than they are - without the human obsession with youth cosmetics companies would go broke.

So what's worse? (and I'm not talking about six year olds here) an underage person forced to work in a coal mine for 12+ hours a day where their life expectancy is cut by 50 - 80% or an underage person having sex in a semi-controlled environment. Obviously STD's are a factor but with proper training and hygiene prostitutes can certainly avoid that pitfall. Personally I have no desire to pay anyone for sex, I find that love is an important factor and knowing someone was only sleeping with me because I was paying them would be too much of a turnoff. Equally repulsive to me would be sex with a 12 year old girl, drinking urine, eating feces, bondage, getting fucked by a dog/horse and a long list of other practices but I can certainly accept that others might find pleasure in those things.

Still, I think I see exploitation when I see it. There were little boys and girls being “escorted” around by sickening old farts. Yes, I am probably “up tight” and “could learn from other cultures,” but kids and adult men don’t do it for me. Maybe prostitution should be legal, but I don’t like it one bit (unless, perhaps, if the provider is working independently and for herself!) Maybe, with my Liberal background, I would support unions for “sex workers.” Life is a learning process, I guess.

Go to Mexico. Where is the prostitution? In tourist locations frequented by first world people. In local non tourist cities, there is still a little prostitution but it is on a par with any other country. Same is true of Thailand,... It is the tourist areas in third world countries where there is a prostitution problem. They know that they can get money. Same is true for South Africa,... See if you find prostitution in the tribes, or in the big tourist cities.

As for the question of whether it is over 18 or not, I would like to start by saying if it is over 18, I do not have a huge problem with it, as I feel that Prostitution should be legal. However, the problem is under 18. Thailand and Cambodia have some of the highest underage prostitution problems in the world. So no, it is not that they look like they are 18 and are over 18. They are under 18. I was in Brazil once, and my guide for the day and I were chatting in Portuguese, and she mentioned that it was her daughters birthday, so I asked her about her daughter, and than asked her what she was getting her for her birthday. She changed the subject rapidly, and me not being to swift brought it up again. About the time I was asking her a second time, it dawned on me that she was getting her daughter nothing because she did not have enough money to. So I asked what the daughter would like and as a "tip" at the end of the day for her being the guide, I got her a present for her daughter. A pair of inexpensive ($5.00) shoes. Her daughter was 5 and this is the first pair she had. I'm not condoning the issue (I've been to Thailand and know first hand) but you're arriving in their country and judging these Men with your morality. A morality that is more than skewed by our puritan and hypocritical sexual hang-ups. We are soo uptight in the US and so backassward towards sexuality its possible that we are the ones that could learn from the cultures of Asia and Europe. Perhaps instead of criminalizing prostitution and making "cheating" on your spouse a capital offense our families and our a relationships could and would last longer. It's human nature for the men to want sexual satisfaction from many parties. If the American woman actually understood this they'd be living in more happy marriages. Instead they want something that is in its self unnatural.

We create these societal and moral guidelines that may be contrary to human nature and then we wonder why 50% of marriages end in divorce and why most people of power tend to stray.

I guess I let my feelings show, because one of the waitresses came over and said: “You are making the patrons nervous sir.” (I was staring down the old bastards to the point that they were leaving the bar.) I told the waitress that I could kill those guys and she said: “so could I, but we have to put up with it.”

A couple nights later a 50ish guy (a German) confronted me outside the bar. (He had a child with him.) After a few words, I shoved the guy down the stairs and he, basically, ran away. The kid just disappeared in all the commotion. I never got in trouble (even though hotel employees saw the fight), but it’s a disgusting scene over there (especially in high-end hotels like the Oriental). Luckily, I didn’t see any more molesters, because I was really ready to kick some ass of the perverts. This crap has to stop!
