Smart, Active Border Collie for Adoption (Summerland)

"Penny" is a 21 month old red & white smooth coat Border Collie (possible McNab), rescued and living in foster care. She is smart, strong, athletic and healthy -- a great trail or beach dog. She's obedience trained, and good with other dogs socially, although best off as a single dog in the home. She's safe with cats, but will herd them, so she needs a cat that is not intimidated by that.
Penny has very high drive, and would be an excellent candidate for agility, search and rescue, or herding work. She's mellow at home as long as she gets a decent outing each day, and is a ball fanatic when given the chance. She's affectionate but strong-willed, so she needs an owner who can handle a smart, confident dog!
