•	Binding accounts:  Check files for accuracy, make sure all prior to binding information is received, get the approval of the underwriter, assign the policy number, issue the binder and send it to the broker. Suspend the file if there is any missing information needed.

•	The Assistant Underwriter is responsible for issuing the policy and endorsements for his or her assigned brokers and/or senior underwriter.  A mock up is given to the AU with all of the pertinent information necessary to issue the policy.

•	Endorsement Issuance:  Upon the approval of the underwriter, the AU will issue all necessary endorsements being added to the policy.

In this entry-level position, you will perform various assignments in support of the company’s contracts and business plan.  You will receive detailed instructions to prepare quotes and proposals for customer goods and services in conjunction with Supervisor, Project Manager and Senior Contract Specialists.  You will administer several types of contracts, including, but not limited to government and commercial contracts, and analyze contract terms and conditions, prepare exception documents and review FARs and DFARs for compliance. REQUIREMENTS:  <br>
High school diploma, 3+ years experience as office administrative, specialized administrative support or secretarial experience, experience/use of general/specialized office equipment:  phones, fax, copiers, scanners, printers, cell phones, office administration practices and procedures:  typing, flow of correspondence, filing, faxing, data entry, copying, compiling supply orders, record keeping, principles and practices of sound business communication, correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation, preparing clear, accurate and concise records and reports, organizing and maintaining office and technical, specialized files, provide switchboard relief on a rotating basis, when needed, computer skills and software to include MS Office, typing skills of at least 40 wpm, strong written and verbal communication skills, equally strong listening skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage time well, scheduling appointments, set up meetings, making travel arrangements and managing company calendars and set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility<br>

• Housing Counseling - Confers with consumers on such subjects as first time homebuyer, refinancing, eviction/foreclosure and reverse mortgages. Confers with consumers on rental housing issues such as advantages and disadvantages of renting, rent calculations, choosing rental housing, and leasing. (CCCS is a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency). <br>

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: <br>

Two years financial, banking or collections experience or equivalent.<br>

Clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication. <br>

Ability to multitask and answer phones in a professional manner. <br>

Bi-lingual English/Spanish. <br>

Ability to perform basic math. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. <br>

The firm is managed in a planned and proactive manner, rather then simply being reactive to deadlines. The development of routines, procedures and protocols are essential to the smooth administrative functioning of the Firm, as well as the mentoring of staff personnel. Our Manager has to multi-task, be effective at time management and be able to quickly set priorities. <br>

3. Teamwork and Team Building. Teamwork and team building should be developed within the administrative staff, so that each staff member enjoys their work at, and feels part of, our Firm. To achieve this, our Manager must regularly/daily communicate and cheerlead – with staff, with attorneys, with the Managing Principal. Redundancy in the performance of duties by the staff is also essential, along with knowledge, training and effective performance of all administrative duties. <br>

4. Administrative Management for the Firm. Once the Firm’s culture and style are understood, leadership and management responsibilities will develop and expand over time. Initially, these responsibilities under the direction of the Managing Principal will be in the areas of: <br>

• Outside Vendor & Community Involvement <br>
• Attorney & Staff Recruiting & Training <br>
• Facility Management, including the Forum <br>
• Client Relations; Our Presentations to Client <br>

5. Delegation. The delegation of responsibilities and the management of the accomplishment of those responsibilities are key elements of this position. All of the foregoing responsibilities cannot be done single-handedly; proper training and delegation are critical to the success of this position. There must be accuracy and thoroughness in the accomplishment of the work/projects to achieve the Firm’s vision; communication with the Managing Principal is critical so that further strategies are implemented. <br>

6. Paralegal Duties. As our staff grows, and management and supervisory capabilities develop, paralegal duties may assigned. <br>
<br>
General Position Responsibilities and Performance Standards. <br>
<br>
1. Coordinate the establishment of major schedules, task assignments and allocation of staff and equipment to ensure compliance with specified objectives, policies and deadlines provided by the Managing Partner. Evaluation of data and information, through reports to the Managing Principal, so that key decisions can be timely made; implementation of the campaigns, projects and tasks assigned by the Managing Partner within the deadlines established. <br>
<br>
2. Assist in monitoring general accounting and bookkeeping practices for the Firm; assist with development and interpretation of reports to Firm’s principals reflecting internal economic conditions and trends. Coordinate and manage client intake, accounts receivable, and collections. <br>
<br>
3. Assist in the development and control of a budget; develop clear and informative methods and media to present financial data, special projects and studies of a financial nature. <br>
<br>
4. Plan and conduct meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees aware of changes and current standards. <br>
<br>
5. Assist in the development, implementation and manage a unified firm marketing plan. Coordinate and manage individual attorney marketing efforts as well as the Firm’s marketing efforts. Work with and supervise outside vendors for promotional and marketing purposes. <br>
<br>
6. Coordinate the employment, application and interviewing process; including screening applicants, maintenance of employment files, coordinate and conduct performance reviews, document personnel actions. <br>
<br>
7. Coordinates and processes benefits packages for new employees and during open enrollment periods. Orders personnel-related forms and booklets as necessary and reviews all paperwork for accuracy and completeness. <br>
<br>
8. Process time sheets, leave records and other personnel records in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, through PayChex. <br>
<br>
9. Performs general clerical duties, such as answering the phone, maintains files, completing reports, performing other basic administrative duties. <br>
<br>
10. Manage and handle medical insurance, malpractice insurance, general insurance, facility and supplies oversight, as well as oversight for contractors, vendors and facility management as well as special projects for the facility and all of its equipment. <br>
<br>
11. Self motivated and self managed with high degree of honesty and integrity, along with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; follows and enforces Firm’s directives and protocols; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. <br>
<br>
12. Provides administrative leadership and management for the smooth operations of the Firm, under the supervision of the Managing Principal, as well as various other principals and attorneys who undertake leadership and management responsibilities. Meets regularly with the Managing Principal and as necessary for execution of responsibilities and projects; attend management, staff meetings, marketing retreats and other Firm events (some of which will be organized and lead by this position). Responsibility for the overall operations of the firm including any venture operations. <br>
