MEN’S TECHNICAL DESIGNER - TEMP

This position is responsible for providing technical design assistance to the men’s team in the areas of fit, specifications and construction, with an eye to increasing customer satisfaction and decreasing the men’s return rate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Evaluate proto fit samples for appropriate fit, measurement specs, construction and quality, and prepare samples for fitting.
• Participate in fit sessions for specific men’s product
• Use flat sketches and digital photo images as necessary to communicate corrections to a garment or pattern. Make pattern corrections to vendor’s patterns as necessary.
• Draft proto fit comments, graded specs, and certified sample comments as needed for
• Men’s products in communicate with vendors/factories on corrections and approvals. Partner with product managers to identify potential fabric, fit, spec, garment performance or construction issues and suggest alternatives and improvements.
• Maintain accurate and organized file and spreadsheet history per style category and season.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE

• Skills—Patternmaking, Apparel Construction, Computer Sketching in Photoshop, Illustrator, Micrografx or similar application, use of PLM or PDM system, Excel spreadsheet use.
• Experience—3+ years in the apparel field with an emphasis on patternmaking/technical design.
