Phanida is a 22-year-old Thai au pair who is currently in the Chicago area and is extending her year in the United States for another 12 months starting in August. She has asked to be placed in California, as she wants to experience another part of the country.
Phanida has been caring for 4 children, ages 6, 4, 2 and 9 months. Her current host family recommends her for a new family and says that she is very patient and tolerant, easily adjusts to new situations, and is very respectful.
Phanida is infant-qualified and can take care of children under the age of two. She has not been driving regularly during her year here, but says she would be comfortable driving. If you are interested in Phanida, please email Brandi at the address in this posting or call me at 847-414-0333. I am her local coordinator, and knowing her personally, I am happy to recommend her and talk to you about her.

Additional information:
Au pairs are 18- to 26-year-old males and females who come to the United States on a J-1 visa through a U.S. Department of State cultural exchange program that Cultural Care Au Pair facilitates. Au pairs stay for one year with the option to extend for six, nine or 12 months. They provide flexible childcare for up to 45 hours/week and 10 hours/day. They must have 1 ½ consecutive days off per week and one full weekend off per month. They are entitled to two weeks of paid vacation. As part of their student visa, they must also complete 6 credits of education at an accredited college or university during their stay. You and your au pair will receive the support of a local coordinator during your year. You must be interested in the idea of cultural exchange to participate in this program, and be prepared to treat your au pair as a member of your family.
