Pâte au choux pan. (Éclair Paste)
This unique Primitive/Antique piece is a late 19th century to early 20th century cone-shaped hand-wrought copper mixing bowl with rounded bottom. Approx. 11” diameter by 7” deep. The bowl is a one-piece, hand hammered fabrication and has a 1 ½” braze repair on the outside bottom surface, made to repair a small hole on bottom inside surface. A copper fitting to accommodate the handle is attached by 3 iron rivets. The fitting consists of a copper flange that matches the curvature of the bowl, brazed to a copper conical tube that accepts the 17” wooden handle. The wooden handle is a comparatively recent replacement. This item was used in a commercial family bakery in Spain.
It has been professionally appraised at $400.00. Written appraisal is available. It weighs 6.2 Lbs.
